Jason Cundy has told The Highbury Squad that Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are the two Arsenal players who scare the life out of him ahead of Chelsea’s clash with the Premier League leaders this weekend.

Arsenal have two more Premier League fixtures to negotiate before the World Cup. And it would be a huge statement of intent if they did indeed go into the break still at the summit.

Certainly, a win away at Stamford Bridge on Sunday would send out a big message.

Martinelli and Saka scare the life out of Chelsea fan

Chelsea have a point to prove after being thrashed at Brighton last time out. But it appears that Cundy is not overly optimistic about Graham Potter’s side’s chances of getting a positive result.

The Blues-supporting pundit was asked which players worry him most ahead of the game. And he went on to laud both Saka and Martinelli.

“Yeah they’re the two that make you tick. You take those two out, all of a sudden Arsenal become a very different side,” he told The Highbury Squad.

“The two players that scare the life out of me at the weekend are Martinelli and Saka, the way that they come inside.”

Interestingly, he went on to suggest that Martinelli is the player he would love most at Chelsea. And he made an extremely exciting comparison when discussing the Brazilian.

“I remember the goal at Stamford Bridge when N’Golo Kante slipped where he’s ran the length of the pitch. Once he’s gone, the boy’s pace, but physically as well, and he’s still yet to grow into that. You can see he might have that kind of Ronaldo about him, that body shape. He’s an athlete in the true sense of the word,” he said.

Blues target looking to haunt Graham Potter?

It is interesting that Cundy picked out Martinelli as the Arsenal player he would love most at Chelsea. Obviously, you can hardly blame him given the way the forward has started the campaign.

But reports from the Daily Mail recently suggested that the Blues are monitoring Martinelli.

It is hard to see Martinelli going anywhere anytime soon. Arsenal are moving in the right direction at a rapid rate. And Martinelli is a key part of their success.

Certainly, the Gunners have an unbelievable chance of securing a massive result if Martinelli and Saka shine at Chelsea this weekend.
