Veteran striker Fernando Llorente is currently a free agent, having been released by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer. The 34-year-old is currently attracting interest from Serie A club Fiorentina, according to Sky in Italy.
On top of that, Spurs are apparently considering re-signing the Spaniard, as reported by the Sun. Therefore, any other clubs interested in signing the attacker must act fast and table an offer.
Despite being in the twilight of his career, Llorente still has plenty to offer at the top level. The 24-cap Spain international has lots of experience and technical ability. His aerial prowess and hold up play make him an ideal target man. He could certainly have a positive impact for plenty of Premier League clubs.
Crystal Palace would be wise to offer the former Juventus man a deal. The Eagles could offer Llorente more first team football than he’d get with Spurs, as well as the opportunity to continue living in London and plying his trade in the top flight of English football.
Christian Benteke struggled to lead the line effectively for Roy Hodgson’s side last season. Llorente could take up the misfiring Belgian’s role in the team. Signing the Spaniard would be a cost effective way of addressing the attacking deficiencies at Selhurst Park.
