Crystal Palace stayed eight points clear of the relegation zone after losing 2-0 to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen kicked off life in Spurs’ new stadium with a bang.

The result leaves Palace with plenty to ponder and gives them work to do in order to ensure safety.

It is has been an inconsistent campaign for the Eagles and boss Roy Hodgson will look to rectify the situation.

It is a reasonable judgment to suggest that for all of Palace’s attacking quality they should be performing better.

Indeed, the Palace supporters seem to think so.

After taking over a sinking ship last season, Hodgson revived fortunes and pushed Palace into contention for a top half finish.

The Eagles settled for 11th but that represented progress given what Hodgson had taken on.

This season looks like being a backward step in terms of league position.

Following last night’s showing against Spurs, Palace fans were keen to react with Hodgson in particular in for the most flak.

Whilst the vast majority of supporters are appreciative of the work he has done, they are questioning whether or not they are underachieving.
