According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Cardiff City, Southampton, and Crystal Palace have all been alerted to the availability of Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
The former Manchester City forward is said to be open to a possible return to the Premier League, and Crystal Palace must follow up on their reported interest and sign the experienced goalscorer.
So far, Palace have registered just five league goals all season— only Cardiff and Huddersfield have scored less in the opening eight matches. The Eagles’ tally is worryingly low, and with striker Christian Benteke ruled out until 2019 after undergoing surgery, Palace’s striking options are looking depleted.

Dzeko scored 50 goals in 130 league appearances for City, and has continued his excellent striking record while in Serie A. In 111 matches for Roma, the Bosnian international has 55 goals, an extraordinary tally that reveals a striker maturing with age.
Although Dzeko is 32 years old, he is showing no signs of letting up. Every indicator points to a successful return to the Premier League, and the imposing target man would be a brilliant addition to Roy Hodgson’s goal-shy side.
Crystal Palace must secure the signing of Edin Dzeko in January, as the south Londoners would be adding one of the best strikers in Europe to a club that is badly in need of attacking options.
