Allan Saint-Maximin has made quite the impression during his cameo role from the Newcastle substitute bench despite failing to prevent The Toon losing 1-0 to Arsenal – and Crystal Palace fans have reacted on Twitter.
Newcastle suffered a 1-0 defeat after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a second-half winner for the Gunners. Saint-Maximin, 22, was brought on just before the goal in search of the winner.
Some neat flicks, dribbles and a couple of efforts on goal as well as some dangerous crosses saw Newcastle sniff an equaliser, but that failed to materialise. Jermaine Jenas has suggested on Match of the Day he should have started.

The Daily Mail claimed in June that the France Under-21 international was a target for Palace if Wilfried Zaha left Selhurst Park, for a fee believed to be in the region of £25million. Newcastle are believed to have got him for cheaper.
A deadline-day move did not occur for Zaha, despite reports of Everton making an offer in the region of £70million plus Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy. Palace instead rejected the deal, and signed McCarthy separately.
Palace fans watched on as Saint-Maximin made his debut on Tyneside instead, and many believe he would have been the perfect kind of addition to Roy Hodgson’s squad this summer.
