In the past weeks, rumours had been swirling over Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita and his future at Selhurst Park.
But Guaita quickly appeared to banish any doubts that he would be leaving Palace after he posted a passionate tweet that will have delighted the Eagles faithful.
Ahead of this weekend’s derby clash against Brighton and Hove Albion, Guaita reaffirmed his commitment to the Palace cause, tweeting that he is “very happy” at the club.
Whenever a player takes to social media to show his commitment to the cause, it must be welcomed by the fans. And especially considering Guaita’s turbulent first year in SE25, it is great to see the goalkeeper feels at home and welcome at Palace.

When the Spaniard was acquired in the summer, many expected him to supplant Wayne Hennessey as first choice, but he had to wait until December to make his Premier League debut.
Excellent performances between the sticks followed, but Guaita was surprisingly dropped to the bench against Burnley following a run of 11 matches where only nine goals were conceded.
Despite his shock demotion, Vicente Guaita appears to be perfectly happy at Crystal Palace and will be eagerly awaiting the clash against the Seagulls.
