Leeds United, West Ham United and Newcastle United are all reportedly interested in raiding Crystal Palace for Irish midfielder James McCarthy this summer – and Palace fans have reacted on Twitter.
McCarthy, 29, was a crucial part of Palace’s side during the 2019-20 campaign – helping them achieve Premier League safety as he clocked up 35 appearances since his £8million (Mail) move from Everton last summer.
However, the Glasgow-born Ireland international is now being linked with another move this summer. Football website 90Min claim Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham all want the ex-Wigan Athletic star.

The report claims all four sides have spoken to Palace over a move for McCarthy, with Palace at least wanting the majority of their £8million outlay repaid if McCarthy was to leave Selhurst Park after just one season.
Steve Bruce and David Moyes are said to be long-term fans of McCarthy while Villa are said to have identified McCarthy after securing safety. Leeds want Premier League experience, and McCarthy is seen as ideal.
Palace fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that four Premier League sides are reportedly in talks to sign the experienced midfielder – and many are keen to see him go in the coming weeks.
