Crystal Palace fans react after tepid home loss to Wolves

Crystal Palace fell to a home defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, with Matt Doherty’s second-half strike leaving the Eagles in 14th position after the match.

Many Palace supporters expressed frustration with the result and the direction of the side, as the fanbase prepared for another relegation battle.

Before kick-off, there was confusion over why summer signing Max Meyer was left out of the starting XI.

Despite Palace’s dominant possession, they could only muster a limited number of attacking chances.

With no goals in their first four home matches, supporters quickly seized on that damning statistic and looked to blame Roy Hodgson.

A lack of goals from the current side led fans to focus on Christian Benteke, the club’s injured striker who has now turned into Palace’s last resort. The Belgian is expected to be out until 21 October with a knee injury, and supporters have placed their faith in Benteke in the hopes he can revive their goal-shy attack.

Yet some pointed out his goalscoring tally has been abysmal in recent years.

In all, the start to the season from Crystal Palace has angered many and fans are demanding results improve soon.
