Crystal Palace are one of a number of Premier League clubs reportedly interested in raiding Arsenal to sign winger Reiss Nelson on loan this summer – and Palace supporters have reacted on Twitter by urging their club to land him on loan.
Nelson, 20, returned to Arsenal last summer after a loan spell in the German Bundesliga with Hoffenheim – where he scored seven goals in 29 outings. But he was in and out of the Gunners side last season, starting only 13 of his 24 appearances.
The signing of Willian has pushed Nelson further down the pecking order, with the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka also above the England Under-21 ace in Mikel Arteta’s thinking.
Now, Football London claim Nelson is a target for Premier League clubs. Indeed, the report states that Palace are interested in Nelson but could face competition from either Burnley or Brighton for the versatile winger.
It is believed that Nelson was keen to stay at Arsenal earlier in the summer and fight for his place, but after failing to even make the Gunners squad in each of the club’s first three Premier League games, he is now open to a temporary move.
Palace supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Nelson is a target for the Eagles despite Roy Hodgson’s side boasting Wilf Zaha, Ebe Eze, Andros Townsend and other options out wide. Palace fans, though, want Nelson signed.
I’d like to see this happen although it probably won’t 🔴🔵#cpfc

Decent move, as long as it’s nothing to do with Zaha which it probably isn’t https://t.co/BsLgMYN14m

Would be class for both of us, especially considering this has nothing to do with Zaha https://t.co/2xMsoIh8uz
