Crystal Palace could be busy in the market as we approach the February 3rd transfer deadline.

Oliver Glasner wanted reinforcements signed early – but the Austrian has actually seen his side become weaker after Chelsea recalled Trevoh Chalobah, while both Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure have suffered knee injuries.

Crystal Palace are pushing to sign El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague to add a more attacking option at left wing-back, and the Senegal international may even replace Tyrick Mitchell entirely.

Manchester United are looking at Mitchell as a backup option – in case a deal for Lecce No.13 Patrick Dorgu collapses.

As that saga rumbles on, Crystal Palace find themselves with a loan spot free to fill after Chelsea recalled Chalobah, with the Daily Mail now hinting it could be used to sign Ben Chilwell.

Simon Jones has now revealed that the Eagles are monitoring the England international ahead of the February 3rd transfer deadline.

The Daily Mail explain that West Ham and Everton are in contention to sign Chilwell too – while Manchester United could also make a late swoop if they fail to sign Dorgu or Mitchell.

Enzo Maresca has only given the £50m defender 45 minutes of action this season – which came in the Carabao Cup – and has been quite open in telling the media that the Chelsea No.21 is free to leave.

The Italian has said: “First of all because it is my choice (to not play him) and because I can see Malo Gusto, Reece James or Marc Cucurella doing different kind of jobs during the game.

“I think Chilwell is a top full-back, doing that job up and down and given the opportunity in the past to win titles and be in national team, but I struggle to see Ben doing different kind of things (such as inverted full-back).”

TBR Football understand Chilwell is desperate to leave Chelsea – and the Blues believe an exit will materialise soon.

TBR Football have also been told that Borussia Dortmund are admirers of Chilwell along with the aforementioned Premier League sides.

However, it is understood the 28-year-old would prefer to stay in England if he manages to secure a move away from Chelsea this winter.
