Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has revealed what Raphinha told him about taking his number 10 shirt just before he left Elland Road.
The Brazilian was arguably Leeds’ best player during his time there. He was absolutely incredible for them, but after two years at the club, he decided he wanted to move on. Barcelona signed him for £55 million (Sky Sports) last summer, and he has been a big miss for the Whites.
Summerville, however, is slowly stepping up to be an important player for Leeds.

Crysencio Summerville shares what Raphinha told him just before he left Leeds United
When Raphinha left Leeds for Barcelona in the summer, his number 10 shirt was up for grabs.
We’re sure plenty of players had their eye on that jersey once it became available, but it looks like Summerville was the first to raise his hand. The youngster even revealed that he asked for Raphinha’s blessing before laying hands on the shirt.
Raphinha apparently encouraged him to ‘do it!’
Summerville said on The Official Leeds United Podcast: “I asked Raphinha for his number 10, and said ‘can I do the same as what you did for Leeds?’
“And he just told me ‘yes bro, do it, you have got it’. I spoke to Liam Cooper as well and Kalvin Phillips, it wasn’t just my decision, I just spoke with a couple of people and it just happened.”
With two goals in the Premier League, including a winner against Liverpool, in just 288 minutes of action this season, Summerville is certainly living up to all the hype.

TBR View:
Everybody at Leeds United knows how good a player Summerville is.
The young Dutchman has only played 18 times for the Whites in all competitions, but his talent and potential have been clear for everyone to see. However, he still has a long way to go.
A winner against Liverpool at Anfield is no small feat at all. Not many players have done it in recent years, and that will surely give him a huge boost looking ahead.
Leeds take on Bournemouth next and Summerville, after his display last weekend, will be licking his lips. He’ll fancy himself to find the net again.
