Crysencio Summerville posts on Instagram after signing for Leeds, Leroy Fer responds
Crysencio Summerville has posted on Instagram after the teenage winger completed a move to Leeds United believed to be worth in the region of £900,000 from Feyenoord – and Leroy Fer responded to the youngster’s post, wishing him luck.
Summerville, 18, joins Leeds after enjoying an excellent 2019-20 campaign in which he starred on loan at top-tier side Ado Den Haag in the Eredivisie. Despite his tender age, Summerville played 22 times at senior level – even scoring two goals.
That has prompted Leeds into action. The Whites have brought in numerous youngsters to bolster their Under-23 squad this summer, with Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Dani van den Heuvel, Charlie Allen and Cody Drameh all joining the club.
Summerville is the latest of that long list, with Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claiming he has cost the newly-promoted Premier League side a fee of £900,000. He has signed a three-year deal, posting on Instagram after a move was confirmed.
Summerville has his work cut out in breaking into the senior side, though. The Whites boast Jack Harrison, Pablo Hernandez, Helder Costa and others out wide – and are reportedly desperate to bring Udinese captain Rodrigo De Paul to the club.
Summerville will have to accept playing for Mark Jackson’s under-23 side for a season or two, with the Whites now competing in Premier League 2. Responding to his Instagram post, former Swansea man Fer commented: “Good luck brother”.
