‘Cry more’, ‘Bitter Arsenal’: Tottenham fans laugh off Martin Keown’s claims about Son’s Puskas goal

Martin Keown has caused quite the stir today, as he took to TalkSport to claim that Tottenham star, Heung-Min Son, shouldn’t have taken home the FIFA Puskas Award.

Son was given the award for best goal this week following his solo effort against Burnley. However, Keown believes it wasn’t the best goal of 2020 and that another winner should have taken the prize.

Whether Keown was being serious – as it seemed – or whether he was trying to reel in some Tottenham fans, remains to be seen. But if it is the latter, then he has done his job.

Twitter was awash with comments from Spurs fans in response to Keown. And while there were some fans who agreed with the former Arsenal man, most Spurs fans saw it as a show of sour grapes.
