Crooks lauds Everton ace Gray after Leeds draw

Garth Crooks has lauded Everton’s Demarai Gray for his performance against Leeds United.

What’s the story?

The Blues twice let a lead slip as they drew 2-2 with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Gray was on the scoresheet for Rafa Benitez’s men, scoring with a neat finish.

The BBC pundit was extremely complimentary about the Everton attacker. Crooks labelled Gray’s performance versus the Whites as ‘electric’ and called him a ‘real talent’.

Gray moved to Goodison Park this summer from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee believed to be £1.7m.

He is one of just three summer signings for Benitez, and the only incoming player to cost a transfer fee.

When talking about Gray, Crooks said: “The Spaniard has brought in winger Gray, who looked electric against Leeds and is a real talent.”

Gray could be a bargain buy for Everton

Gray could be a real bargain buy for Everton amid praise from Crooks.

The winger has always been a highly rated talent. However, he has never recognised his ability.

It seems all the ace needs is the right guidance, and who better than the former Real Madrid coach?

The Spaniard has a history of bringing through talented wingers during his time with Liverpool. Harry Kewell and Dirk Kuyt are just two of the players to shine under the 61-year-old.

Up and until now, Gray has flattered to deceive. However, Benitez is just the man to make the £1.7m star a bargain for Everton.
