Cristiano Ronaldo is never one to shy away from backing his own ability, and the former Man United star has just predicted how many goals he would get if he were still playing in the Premier League.
The 40-year-old is undoubtedly one of the greatest goal scorers the Premier League has ever seen during his two spells at Manchester United.
In 236 appearances in the English top-flight, the Portuguese legend netted a remarkable 103 times, and he thinks he could significantly add to that tally were he still playing in the division.
In his latest interview with Piers Morgan, the Red Devils’ former player has detailed exactly how many goals he thinks he could score this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo backs himself to score 25 Premier League goals
Cristiano Ronaldo has backed himself to score 25 Premier League goals this season if he were still playing for a top team in the division.
During his final full campaign at Old Trafford, the forward netted 24 times in all competitions, and he still believes he could do similar now.
Ronaldo told Piers Morgan Uncensored: “Year by year, year by year, I score more. Even in a bad year, I scored 25 goals. If I play in the Premier League now in a top team, I will score the same.
“They don’t need to speak because they can say whatever they want. But the numbers they don’t like, and they can’t say the Saudi League.
“They have never been here. They never play here. They don’t know what to run with 40 degrees, they don’t know.”
During the new 2025/26 season in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo has already managed eight goals in seven matches, which is remarkable considering his age.
He is also still leading the line for the Portuguese national team and remains a key player, having netted seven times in his last six appearances.
At the 2026 World Cup, the former Man United star will be hoping to finally lead his nation to glory, when he will have just turned 41.
Cristiano Ronaldo on Wayne Rooney thinking Lionel Messi is better than him
Ronaldo has admitted he has no issue with Wayne Rooney claiming that Lionel Messi is a better player than he ever was.
The ex-Man United man also stated that the pair aren’t friends, but had a good relationship when they were playing together.
| Matches | Wins | Joint goal participation |
| 206 | 134 | 27 |
“No problem. When we used to play, we had a good relationship, not friends like I have with these guys, they come one time per week or two to have dinner with me or lunch.
“But we have a good relationship. In football, I don’t have friends who come to my house for lunch or dinner. When I mean friends, I have a good relationship, but friends, friends for me, it’s a different word for me. But the relationship was good, like Ferdinand was a friend.”
