Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has revealed that Karim Benzema is the best striker he has ever played against.
Benzema praised
Romero has joined Tottenham this summer, and was interviewed by the club’s official website – as the 23-year-old revealed a few facts about himself.
Romero was asked who the best striker he has ever played against is.
And his response was a quick one. He said: “Benzema. To this date he’s the player who was the biggest challenge for me.”
Romero faced off against Benzema twice in last year’s Champions League, with Madrid running out 4-1 winners on aggregate.
Ex-Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is also a massive fan on Benzema.
‘Amazing’ talent

He said that Real Madrid striker was ‘amazing’ this summer, and compared him to Tottenham’s own Harry Kane while on TalkSPORT.
Romero is unlikely to come up against Benzema in the immediate future following his move to Spurs, as Tottenham don’t have Champions League football on offer.
But Spurs will be hoping that Romero’s arrival can help them back into the top four, and that could set up a potential reunion between the French forward and the Argentine international at a later date.
