Tottenham are expected to welcome back Cristian Romero to training tomorrow in what could be a boost for the club ahead of facing Newcastle this coming weekend.
Romero had initially gone to Argentina to join up with the national team, despite being suspended. The Argentinian FA were hopeful of seeing his ban reduced but that hasn’t come to fruition, with Romero now banned anyway. And according to Evening Standard, Romero is already on his way back to England ahead of a return to training tomorrow.

Tottenham are said to be upset at the fact Romero has faced a wasted trip to South America and back. However, there can be no denying that having the defender back earlier than expected is a boost for Antonio Conte.
Romero has been exceptional in recent weeks and is proving time and again to be a fine signing for the club. Indeed, Michail Antonio is among the opposition players to praise him, calling the Argentine ‘excellent’ a few weeks back.
TBR’s View: Romero Back At Tottenham Is Welcome For Tottenham
As much as this was a wasted trip for Romero, there can be no denying the positives for Spurs of Romero not being injured on duty is a bonus.
Conte will be delighted to get his main man back and having those extra few days to work together is vital. We’ve seen this season already that Conte gets more from his team when he’s got more time to coach.
Ultimately, despite the farce of all this, Romero being back at Hotspur Way is what Spurs fans will have wanted to see.
