Middlesbrough never saw such free-flowing goal-scoring form. He managed 16 goals in 67 games for the Teessiders. Now, that is not a poor return for a player often played out of position out wide, but certainly not as impressive as his stunning form in Spain.
What is now evidently clear is that Middlesbrough did not utilise his talents correctly. As an out-and-out centre-forward in La Liga, he is outscoring some of the best players in world football, in a lesser team.
