Cresswell starts, Rodrigo up front: Leeds predicted lineup vs West Ham
Here is our predicted lineup as Leeds United prepare to face West Ham in the Premier League at Elland Road on Saturday.
Leeds threatening to turn corner after difficult start?
Leeds go into the clash with the high-flying Hammers still awaiting their first top-flight win of the campaign.
However, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have shown some positive signs across their last two games.
They drew away at Newcastle last Friday. And while they could have lost, they certainly looked a lot more like themselves in the first-half.
Leeds followed that up with a Carabao Cup victory over Fulham. There were further reasons for encouragement at Craven Cottage, even if they needed penalties to see off Marco Silva’s men.
So they may feel that they do have a little momentum heading into the weekend’s visit of West Ham.
Who will start, and who will miss out?
The headline inclusion in our predicted lineup is Charlie Cresswell. The defender was outstanding in only his second senior appearance on Tuesday – with many praising his display.
Leeds will be without Pascal Struijk due to suspension. And it looks likely that Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch will also miss out due to injury.
So Cresswell could keep his place with Liam Cooper coming in.
Elsewhere, Patrick Bamford may miss out. It was intriguing that Bielsa could provide few assurances over the injury he suffered ahead of the Newcastle tie.
With that in mind, Rodrigo may start up front. Tyler Roberts could be deployed in the number 10 role.
So here is our predicted lineup for Leeds in full…
