Craig Dawson has claimed that he was not aware of how good Declan Rice was until he started working with the West Ham midfielder on a regular basis, as he labelled his teammate ‘unbelievable’ in a Twitter Q&A.
Rice has taken his game to another level this season. It was already clear that the 22-year-old is one of the brightest talents in the Premier League.

But he has been pivotal in guiding the Irons to the top four with around a third of the campaign left.
So – despite West Ham’s success – it should probably come as little surprise that Dawson picked Rice as he was asked by a supporter to name the best player in training.

Here is Dawson’s full response to the question…
As mentioned, it would not be a shock if Dawson felt that he could pick from a number of teammates. West Ham have been so impressive so far this term.
Rice has been outstanding. But they also have the likes of Tomas Soucek and Michail Antonio amongst those who are proving so influential.
The standards seem to have risen across the board at the London Stadium. And it appears that they have the opportunity to achieve something incredibly special in the coming months.
