‘Cracking player’, ‘Would love’: Some Newcastle fans enjoy links to 24-year-old
Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Angelo Fulgini at French Ligue 1 club Angers – and some Magpies fans on Twitter are excited by the transfer speculation.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are monitoring the 24-year-old this summer as a potential target. Also, Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are eyeing him.
The report explains foreign club Angers are preparing to cash in on their prized asset during this window, so Monaco are named as another potential suitor for him. He is valued at £12million.
Fulgini, who’s got two years on his current contract in France, looks like he’s in demand this summer.
He’s an attack-minded midfielder that had a great 2020/21 season. The Frenchman netted 10 goals and made four assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
In addition, he’s got a reputation as being superb dribbler and a showman.
Angelo Fulgini looks an exciting Newcastle option
If Newcastle can’t bring Arsenal’s Joe Willock back to St James’ Park, Fulgini may be a decent alternative.
Steve Bruce’s squad is crying out for more goals from their midfielders, so bringing back advanced playmaker Willock after his loan last season would be great.
However, Fulgini is an eye-catching target that plays with flair, creativity and attacking intent, just like Newcastle fans historically love.
One worry could be that 90min reported last week that the Toon could end up having less than £20million to spend in this window.
