West Ham are being linked with Southampton-owned midfielder Mario Lemina – and some Hammers fans on Twitter have given a positive response to the transfer speculation.
Lemina, 27, is currently on loan at Premier League club Fulham from top-flight rivals Southampton.
According to the Guardian, West Ham and Newcastle United are both keen on trying to sign the central midfielder in the summer.
The report expels that he may be available for just £7million at the end of the season.
It is understood that loan club Fulham have the option to make his transfer permanent in the summer, but they are staring down the possibility of relegation to the Championship.
Lemina, who is not part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans at Southampton, will be allowed to leave St Mary’s for a fee of around £7million.
He’s a no-nonsense defensive midfielder renowned for his aggression and physicality in the centre of the park, which makes him a great fit for the English game
A selection of West Ham supporters on social media are convinced the Gabon international would be a big help for them.
Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble are the most recognised senior options for midfield at the London Stadium, so strengthening in that area of the pitch for next season would make perfect sense for Hammers boss David Moyes.
