Coventry fans react as Leeds reportedly scout Sam McCallum

A number of Coventry City fans have taken to Twitter to react to recent reports from Coventry Live which suggested that Leeds United have scouted Sam McCallum.

McCallum has made a brilliant start to life in the Sky Blues first-team. He has made five appearances for the League One high-flyers this season.

Coventry Live reported last week that the Whites are one of the teams interested in signing the 19-year-old left-back. And it is noted that Coventry’s transfer policy has seen the club cash in on a number of their brightest prospects in recent years.

Leeds have signed several young players from other Football League and non-league clubs since the current hierarchy arrived. The likes of Liam McCarron and Jordan Stevens have arrived in recent years after making their first-team debuts lower down the EFL pyramid.

And judging by some of the reaction to the reports from some Coventry supporters on social media, it would appear that McCallum could be another exciting addition to Leeds’s youth ranks if they can get a deal done.

There are some who believe that he would not be missed if the Sky Blues cashed in, but the large majority would clearly be extremely disappointed if he looked to be Elland Road-bound at some stage in the future.
