‘Couldn’t afford the deposit!’ – Celtic fans react as Leeds are linked with Odsonne Edouard

Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard, has been linked with a move to Leeds United today and the Celtic fans appear to be laughing off the suggestions of a move on Twitter.

Reports from the Daily Star print edition (via BBC Sport), claim that Leeds want the 22-year-old if they win promotion to the Premier League.

That scenario is looking increasingly likely, with the Whites once again winning yesterday at Blackburn Rovers.

Marcelo Bielsa will be well aware that he’ll need to improve his squad if he does lead his team to promotion. Edouard, then, could be the perfect signing given his age and goalscoring record.

However, some Celtic fans seem to think that officials at Elland Road won’t be able to afford their key man. Indeed, if rumours of a fee upwards of £30m are to be believed, they may well be right.
