Newcastle United are up to 13th in the Premier League table after back-to-back wins.
The Magpies recently beat West Ham United 3-2 at the London Stadium, and followed that up by beating Bournemouth 2-1 at the weekend.
There is now a bit more optimism about the place, and a third straight win after the international break would propel the club into the top half.
The team is gradually improving under Steve Bruce, and five goals in the last two games is encouraging.
That said, the Magpies have only scored 11 goals in the league so far, with club-record signing Joelinton having found the net just once in 12 appearances.
He hasn’t had the best service, but fans expect better from a player who cost £40 million (BBC Sport).
Perhaps he is in need of some creative support – and one reported target of theirs could be the ideal candidate.
TBR’s view – Poulsen would make massive difference
Newcastle are supposedly long-term admirers of RB Leipzig forward Yussuf Poulsen (Express), who could significantly improve the Magpies in the final third.
So far in 2019/20, he’s scored twice, but laid on an impressive 10 assists for teammates – underlining his excellent creativity.
The 6ft 4in star, who can play through the middle or out wide, bagged 19 in all competitions last term suggesting he also knows where the goal is.
Perhaps Newcastle should consider stepping up their interest in January, as the Denmark international could be the man to bring out the best in the misfiring Joelinton.
