Tottenham Hotspur fans think they may just have a chance of landing Jules Kounde again.
Hopes alive?
Tottenham pushed to sign Kounde from Sevilla early on in the transfer window, but struggled to get a deal over the line, with the central defender preferring other options (Marca).
Tottenham have since moved for Cristian Romero, with the centre-back set to join in the coming days.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were expected to land Kounde – but in recent days their move has stalled.
The Guardian have suggested that Chelsea may not be able to reach the fee that Sevilla want for the French international, which is said to stand at £60 million by Mundo Deportivo.
And with Chelsea failing to get a deal over the line, Tottenham fans are starting to become hopeful that they may be able to strike.
Dream pairing
If Spurs are to land Kounde then they will need to make at least one sale to raise some funds.
If Davinson Sanchez does depart this summer it has been widely reported that Spurs will enter the market for a new central defender.
And if Tottenham could go into the season with Kounde and Romero at the back then they could have a pairing in defence which is the envy of many Premier League sides.
