Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier could be on his way out of the club this summer.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A club Napoli are interested in signing the England international, who has struggled to produce his best form this term.
Carlo Ancelotti is said to want to rebuild this summer, after issuing a weak challenge to Juventus in the title race and exiting the Europa League at the hands of Arsenal.
And Trippier – who could cost £40 million say The Sun – is on the Italian’s shortlist according to Di Marzio, who also acknowledges interest from Manchester United.
Following Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, Trippier’s potential exit may well be hastened after an impressive showing from Juan Foyth.
Trippier has not had a good season for Spurs and has been very questionable on the defensive side of things.
The full-back was replaced by Argentine Foyth for the Etihad Stadium clash, and the youngster did a very good job containing one of the Premier League’s best players this term Raheem Sterling.
Foyth is a centre-back by trade but showed his versatility by operating at right full-back and faring well.
Although he did not offer too much in an attacking sense, he was solid in the defensive phase – making seven tackles according to WhoScored.
Mauricio Pochettino may want to think about making Foyth, Kyle Walker-Peters and Serge Aurier compete for the position.
