Tottenham are one of several clubs that are reportedly circling for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who has been impressing in the Championship on loan at Sheffield United this season.
According to ESPN, Spurs have been alerted to the 21-year-old alongside Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
The 6ft 3in colossus has been in excellent form in England’s second tier the campaign and is currently out on his fourth loan spell away from Old Trafford.
He is an in-demand ace that is attracting the attention of some elite clubs and appears to have a big future ahead of him.
The England Under-21 international has kept 10 clean sheets in 30 appearances for Sheffield United this season and is making a name for himself as a quality shot-stopper, while he’s strong with the ball at his feet too like many modern goalkeepers.
Henderson fits the mould perfectly for Spurs as a young English talent, so could he be a long-term solution to Hugo Lloris.
Lloris, 32, is captain of the North London club and been the indisputable number one option for a number of years.
But the Frenchman has seen individual errors creep into his game in the past year and he can’t last forever in net.
It would be a smart idea to have a promising young goalkeeper on the books to try dislodge him, while Paulo Gazzaniga is another decent option.
Spurs’ interest in Henderson does seem distant for now and it would have to be ramped up massively if they are serious about signing him, but he could be a star for the future worth investing in.
