Could Tottenham regret not moving for £34 million Atletico target Alex Telles?
Atletico Madrid are closing in on a €40 million (£34.4 million) move for Porto left-back Alex Telles, according to AS, coming nine months after Tottenham were linked with the Brazilian.
It comes after Sky Sports claimed that Spurs were admirers and may even have considered a summer move, with him considered a viable alternative in place of Ryan Sessegnon on the left of defence.
The 26-year-old could replace former Chelsea man Filipe Luis as the first choice full-back as Bild insist that Lucas Hernandez will depart the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano for Bayern Munich.

Tottenham fans may be left wondering why Spurs did not consider a move this summer, though with Danny Rose and Ben Davies in the ranks, Mauricio Pochettino may have felt that he had ample coverage.
Given the lack of transfer activity in north London of late, it is easy to understand why the club may have been hesitant to pay such a fee for a position which would appear not to be a priority.
Whether that decision comes back to bite them remains to be seen as the Brazilian could be given a chance to shine at one of Europe’s elite clubs next season.
