Tottenham Hotspur may have a free run at reported target Nathan Ake, with reports now suggesting Chelsea have ended their interest.
Sky Sports claim the Blues are unlikely to exercise their £40 million buy-back option for the Bournemouth defender, who has been impressing for the struggling Cherries.

The Netherlands international has been developing nicely at the Vitality Stadium since his permanent transfer in the summer of 2017, and interest in the 24-year-old is high.
Spurs had reportedly made Ake a top target while Mauricio Pochettino was still in charge, and may now be tempted to crank up their pursuit.
That said, given Bournemouth’s current league position and alarming form, any exit for Ake this month has to be somewhat unlikely.
TBR’s view – Ake an ideal signing for Tottenham
News of Chelsea not wanting to exercise their buy-back should come as a boost to Tottenham, who need to start thinking about life after Jan Vertonghen.

The Belgian’s contract expires in the summer and Ake would be a brilliant replacement as someone who is left-footed and comfortable playing in a pairing or a back three.
His Chelsea association might make a move to Spurs difficult, but he’d be a coup given his current ability and potential.
