Everton have been rocked by the news that Jean-Philippe Gbamin has been ruled out of action for three months.
The summer signing from Mainz suffered a setback in his rehabilitation from a quadricep injury and underwent surgery during the international break.

The club confirmed in a statement that the Ivory Coast international – touted to be Idrissa Gueye’s long-term replacement at Goodison Park – now faces the rest of 2019 on the treatment table.
It is a big blow for the struggling Toffees, who would have felt positive over the 24-year-old returning to light training recently.
Perhaps the development could be a window of opportunity for another Everton first-teamer though.
TBR’s view
Tom Davies has gotten fairly used to life on the bench at Goodison Park in recent times, but his minutes could be set to increase significantly going forwards.

The England U21 star has Fabian Delph and Andre Gomes ahead of him in the pecking order, but the duo are both worryingly fragile.
Marco Silva should have Davies above Morgan Schneiderlin in the pecking order, with the Frenchman failing to convince in recent weeks as the injured Gomes’ deputy.
£25,000-a-week star Davies (Spotrac) has looked promising with the Young Lions, and perhaps it’s about time Silva placed his faith in the Goodison crowd favourite, whose industry and tenacity could bring a real lift to the side.
