Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Arsenal
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain burst onto the scene a few years back in a similar fashion to Arsenal team mate Theo Walcott, so it’s surprising to learn he is still just 22.
However, the talented youngster has fallen out of favour at the Emirates due to the signing of Alexis Sanchez and performances of Joel Campbell, meaning he could exit the North London club should the fee be right for the Gunners.
Playing time and slight inconsistency would be an issue, but with the uncertainty of Jordon Ibe’s future, the disappointment of Lazar Markovic and the departure of Raheem Sterling Liverpool are currently short of wide men in their squad. The Ox brings pace, finesse and trickery which can bamboozle defenders, and would be a great option to utilise, especially considering he can play on the left and through the middle as well as his preferred right wing position.
With Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge all being international team-mates, and the league being one that’s familiar to him, Oxlade-Chamberlain should have no problem bedding into the team. The only issue is would Arsenal be willing to sell to such a close rival, but should the player express a genuine desire to leave, then he may indeed find his way to the red half of Merseyside.
