Lucas Digne – Paris Saint-Germain (on loan at AS Roma)

Another Frenchman, Digne has been linked with the Reds in previous seasons, and has spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Roma from PSG where he has not only defended well, but found the back of the net on three occasions, making him the perfect modern day full-back.

The 22-year-old may be surplus to requirements at Paris with the likes of Maxwell and Layvin Kurzawa doing a solid job in the left-back position for the French giants, meaning PSG may be willing to sell for a suitable transfer fee. However, Liverpool would need to do battle with his current club Roma.

Digne would bring strength in depth to the left side of Liverpool’s defence, with Spaniard Jose Enrique finally looking to bring his time on Merseyside to an end. That leaves Alberto Moreno; who has been iffy at times, potentially Jon Flannigan who can play both on the right and the left, and likewise young Englishman Joe Gomez, who played at left-back for Brendan Rodgers before injury but his first position is centre back.

Digne would be a more complete left-back than Moreno, knowing when to stay back when it’s necessary but also providing a suitable attacking option should he be required. He could be available for as little at £7.5m, which would prove great business for Liverpool, especially considering the European experience Lucas Digne brings with him.
