Captain. Leader. Legend. That is how the banner reads at Stamford Bridge. Without a dramatic U-turn, it seems as though John Terry is finally going to leave the Blues, after over 15 years at the club and he may well have played his last ever minute for Chelsea Football Club. A tear-jerking fact for so many Chelsea fans, a true hero of the most successful period in the history of the club, Terry will be sorely missed.
However, putting emotion aside, Terry’s playing days are numbered and he has proven that he can’t cut it with the elite any more.
Just as they’ve had to try and replace Cech, Lampard, Drogba and Cole, the time has finally come to fill in for John Terry. Will they opt for experience, will they pick a new face, or will it just one big disaster and Gary Cahill takes over? Either way, the four included over the next few pages must be contenders. Let us know in the comments which you think would be the best option, either for the short-term or with an eye further into the future.
