Could these three signings win Manchester United the Premier League title?

We welcome Manchester United fan channel, The United Stand to The Boot Room for the start of 2016.

With the January window just about to hit full swing, the Manchester-based lads have drawn up their three player shortlist for the upcoming weeks of transfer action – a group of players who they feel, if signed this month, could restore their club to its former glory.

Heading this ambitious list is Everton’s John Stones, the man who has drawn plenty of plaudits for his mature performances this term. Despite speculation surrounding a move to Chelsea during the previous transfer window, the Everton youngster has been strongly linked with Old Trafford in recent weeks, not least by the the Manchester Evening News.

Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku’s form in front of goal, which has seen his score and impressive 15 goals in 20 Premier League appearances, has seen him attract interest from the Red Devils’ fan-based. With Louis van Gaal’s side lacking an experienced and effective number ‘9’, the Belgian frontman could certainly be worth a gamble.

Finally, could Van Gaal’s pull a rabbit out of the hat in bringing Dutch international Arjen Robben to Old Trafford? The Bayern Munich winger, who has made just seven appearances for the Bundesliga champions this season, would greatly empower the attacking arsenal at his fellow countryman’s disposal – there can be no doubting this notion.

Hear what The United Stand had to say as the club delve deeper into a pivotal transfer window under the leadership of their highly divisive Dutchman.

NO TO ROBBEN, he never wanted to play for United in his prime now he will consider moving there. That says it all for me, he wants some more retirement funds just like van Gaal.
