Could these five managers save Newcastle United’s season?

The former Manchester United manager would also be a popular choice with many Newcastle fans if tasked with the job of steadying the ship. His last two managerial roles may not have been the huge success he was hoping for, but his work with Everton and Preston cannot be forgotten. The Scot currently spends a lot of his time in the Sky studios on match days and whenever a job becomes available he’s always in the mix – that wouldn’t be any different if the Newcastle job was available.

Whether he would agree to the current system in place by Mike Ashley is another question, but he is a man with vast experience in the top flight of English football and his style of play; although not always easy on the eye, would certainly grind out the results as the season nears its conclusion and beyond that could be successful at Newcastle.
