Rafael Benitez
A free agent after his departure from Real Madrid, the Spaniard would certainly bring a wealth of experience to Tyneside, as well as a winning mentality. He’s been the pick of the bunch for a number of the Geordie faithful for a while now and he would fit nicely into the way Mike Ashley works. The 55-year-old spent six seasons at Anfield, winning the FA Cup and Champions League in that time, and also had a brief stint at Chelsea, where he guided them to Europa League glory.
He has managed at the top level in a number of the major European leagues throughout his illustrious career and his presence would be a major factor in attracting big-name players to Tyneside if he was given the chance. Benitez has spoken openly about a desire to return to the Premier League, but is taking the Newcastle job too risky for a man of such European pedigree?
