A report from 90min is suggesting that there may be a British feel to any post-takeover recruitment at Newcastle United this summer.
A host of British talent has been linked with a move to St James’ Park, including three Norwich City players.
Todd Cantwell, Jamal Lewis, and Max Aarons are reportedly on Newcastle United’s radar and in the case of the latter, the Magpies could have a secret weapon.
Because the Norwich right-back’s cousin is current Newcastle United player Rolando Aarons.
Aarons remains contracted to Newcastle despite his injury problems severely impacting his ability to shine on Tyneside. The 24-year-old was most recently on loan at Motherwell and is contracted at Newcastle until 2021.

The pair did not meet until late in life, but Rolando confirmed to The Guardian last November that he has been giving Aarons, who was valued at £30 million by Norwich in January (as reported by the Daily Mail), advice regarding his career and using his own pitfalls to help guide the Canaries star through his career.
“I wish I had me now when I was his age. I try to make sure he doesn’t make the same misjudgments or errors that I made when I was that age – your personal life, making sure you are living right.
“Everything was trial and error and, at that age, I don’t feel like you can afford to make those mistakes.”
But some Newcastle United fans might immediately point out that, after a bright start, Aarons’ career at Newcastle has not been the success it once threatened to be.
It’s possible that he could have unsavoury things to say about the club to his relative. Again, not judging by comments Aarons made in the same interview.
“In the long term I want to be a Premier League player and if that happens at Newcastle that would be perfect for me because I’ve come through there. It’s a great club, I love the club and the fans are great there.”
Clearly, the elder cousin still loves the club and would like to one day finally live up to his early promise. Perhaps, if he lured his cousin to the club, it could help him get back to his best as well.
But what is also clear, is that if Max Aarons asks Rolando if a move to Newcastle is a good idea, the current Magpie will happily tell him to make the Tyneside switch.
