Could Pereira be the perfect Ramsey replacement at Arsenal?

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey’s exit is all but sealed as he either eyes a January or summer departure from the Emirates Stadium.

With the Welshman on the verge of leaving North London, Arsenal need to be considering his replacement.

Although Ramsey is not a regular starter, he adds depth to the midfield and competition for places.

Unai Emery will be scouring the market for a midfield playmaker who can fill the void left by Ramsey.

And according to The Mirror, Arsenal will rival Chelsea for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season – like Ramsey’s – Manchester United are ready to cash in on the youngster.

The Red Devils are looking for £10m for the 22-year-old and this could be a shrewd purchase by Arsenal.

Pereira is out of favour at Man United but many fans feel he should be getting more game time.

The once-capped Brazil international is a ball-playing central midfielder in a similar mould to Ramsey.

While Pereira is not as good as Ramsey yet, he has the potential to develop into a top player and Arsenal would surely improve his game with their easy-on-the-eye style of play.

Having impressed on loan at Granada and Valencia, Pereira needs to get a fresh start away from Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho has held Pereira back but Emery could turn him into a regular at Arsenal.
