Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Monaco defender Antonio Barreca.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Magpies have turned their attention to the 23-year-old at the Ligue 1 club.
It is understood that there is a possibility the Italian could depart Monaco despite only joining them in the summer.
Barreca has struggled for minutes this season since his move to Monaco and made just nine appearances across all competitions.
But the youngster is a highly-rated talent with incredible pace and he could provide a fresh option at full-back at St James’ Park.

Barreca is an attacking left-back that has managed two assists during his limited time on the pitch for Monaco and impressed as a youngster with Torino in Italy.
He’s got the speed and athleticism of a modern day full-back, but could he replace Paul Dummett in the Newcastle XI?
Dummett is the first-choice option at left-back for the Magpies and been a consistent player in Rafael Benitez’s team.
The Wales international is a dependable player to call upon and strong with his back to goal, but can lack a little offensively when he goes forward.
He has no competition for his starting position and a promising Italian youngster pushing him close should improve both players.
Barreca is very much someone that could make an impact in the Premier League if he hits the ground running and it would be a close battle with Dummett for the shirt.
