Eboue Kouassi has not kicked on as expected at Celtic and has fallen further down the pecking order this season.
The central midfielder was a bit-part player last season, playing the deputy role to the established pairing of Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham.
But this season, he has dropped even further down in Brendan Rodgers’ preferences.
Youssouf Mulumbu joined Celtic this summer on a free transfer and he has exceeded expectations so far.
The former West Brom and Kilmarnock man has demonstrated his experience and tenacity in midfield.
In Brown’s absence, Mulumbu has played a key role in the Celtic midfield.

But what does that mean for Kouassi? He would have eyed first-team chances when Brown was injured but he has faded further away.
The 20-year-old has managed just two outings this season. And only one of them came in the league, as Hearts beat Celtic 1-0 in early August.
With Rodgers alluding to exits with his “bloated squad” remarks, it looks like Kouassi might be one of many leaving Celtic soon.
The Ivorian midfielder is young and still has potential so it might be a loan move that is preferred.
But after failing to kick on following his January 2017 move from Krasnodar, it might be better for Kouassi to leave on a permanent basis.
