Could Liverpool use Divock Origi to land Brighton enforcer Yves Bissouma?

Brighton are reportedly interested in signing Divock Origi – meaning there could be a chance for Liverpool to look into a potential swap deal.

Eurosport have reported that the Seagulls have lodged their interest in the Belgian, along with Fiorentina and Schalke.

It is thought Graham Potter is keen to add some more firepower next month, and sees Origi as someone who could make a difference.

The star is very much on the fringes at Anfield, with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all firmly established.

It’s rare he gets minutes given how durable the front three are, and speculation has been rife about a potential exit for the 25-year-old in January.

With Brighton apparently keen, one wonders if Liverpool could use that interest to land Yves Bissouma – a player thought to be on Jurgen Klopp’s radar.

According to talkSPORT’s Alex Cooke earlier this month, the Reds are considering a swoop for the Mali international as a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, who is out of contract next summer.

TBR’s View – Origi plus cash for Bissouma?

It doesn’t appear that regular minutes await Origi at Liverpool.

Klopp didn’t even put him on when the team were 4-0 up against Crystal Palace, sending Salah on to replace Mane instead.

If he isn’t going to be used on the pitch, Liverpool may as well try and use him as part of a deal.

With Wijnaldum looking like he may move on to pastures new, this is a great opportunity to land Bissouma (reportedly valued at around £30 million, ESPN) who is a fantastic box-to-box operator.

Throwing £50,000-a-week star Origi (Spotrac) into a deal could see Brighton happy to accept a lower fee.
