Could Juventus be set to make a double raid for Hector Bellerin and Matteo Darmian?

Juventus have Hector Bellerin and Matteo Darmian in their sights as potential replacements for Dani Alves, according to the Mirror. The Brazilian has been excellent for the Italian champions since joining from Barcelona, but he is set for a move to Manchester City. If the 34-year-old does leave the club, they will need to find a suitable replacement and they have been scouting the Premier League for targets.

Arsenal have already stated that Bellerin isn’t for sale, but they may find it difficult to keep him if a good offer is put on the table. Juventus are a bigger club and it would represent an interesting career move for the Spaniard, as Serie A is famous for strong defences. It could be good for his personal development, if he did join the Old Lady, as he would be given excellent defensive coaching, which would only be beneficial.

Nonetheless, a move for Darmian is more likely, as he is Italian, and would likely be interested in a move back home, especially as his place in the Manchester United team is far from secure. The only doubt that Juventus would have about the 27-year-old is that he doesn’t possess the attacking ability of either Alves or Bellerin. However, he is an accomplished defender with a good tactical understanding.

Darmian would be a less risky option and he would cost less than Bellerin.

What would they bring to Juventus?

Throughout his career at Arsenal, Bellerin has been exciting to watch, with his pace causing problems in attack. His final ball has improved over the last two seasons and he is now a genuine attacking threat. Although he had a challenging last season, he remains one of the best young right-backs in the world and he could be excellent given the right coaching.

Darmian is a more refined option for Juventus and, considering he is Italian, there are a number of reasons to bring him back to Serie A. It may even be that he is being considered as a squad option and that Bellerin is the player that they want to be their starting right-back, if Alves is sold. At the age of 27, he still has a lot of time ahead of him and it could be a smart signing.

How likely is a move to Turin for each player?

Arsenal don’t want to sell Bellerin and there is interest from Barcelona. It would be a huge coup if Juventus pulled off the move and it would require a lot of money. The Spaniard has a lot going for him and it is easy to see why clubs are interested in him, despite his flaws. However, a move to Turin would be a surprise if it was to come off.

Darmian is a more realistic target and this is one that could come off if Juventus are interested. A move back to Italy would likely appeal to him and his position in the squad at Old Trafford means that they would be willing sellers if a good deal was put on the table. He may not be a priority target, but he is one that is attainable.
