Jordan Pickford has been an ever-present figure in the Everton goal ever since his move from Sunderland in 2017. In that time he has amassed over 100 appearances for the club. However, after some recent mistakes, is it time for Ancelotti to seek a new number one?
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has come in for a lot of criticism so far this season. He has conceded 32 goals in 21 Premier League games and was again questioned for his involvement in Curtis Jones’ winner for Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Pickford was positioned off his line and his small frame in goalkeeper terms, could not reach the admittedly sublime effort from the young Liverpool man.
New Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti will no doubt be running the rule over his current squad and identifying the areas he feels need to be strengthened. It will be interesting to see what the Italian does with Pickford and if he attempts to sign a replacement.

The current Everton number one remains as England’s shot-stopper and will need to raise his performance levels if he is to keep that spot for next summer’s Euros.
If Everton were to replace Pickford this month, who could they target?
There are not a lot of goalkeepers currently available. It would take a hefty fee to bring in a keeper that is considered better than the Englishman.

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana could be an option for the Merseyside club. The Cameroon shot-stopper admitted in November 2019 that he would be open to a move to the Premier League (BBC).
