Scoring 2 hat-tricks last week against Athletic Bilbao and Chelsea, Falcao has well and truly made footballing headlines around the world. The transfer deadline closed with Falcao still wearing the red and white of Atletico, but could he be on the move in January?
The Colombian striker could be heading to London in the winter transfer window to play his football at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea. Reports suggest that he is keen to show his talents in the Premier League, and that it has been his dream since being a kid.
Falcao showed how much of a threat he could be in the Premier League after destroying Chelsea in the Super Cup on Friday night. He scored 3 goals. They weren’t just goals, they were phenomenal goals involving high levels of skill and composure. There is no doubt that this guy can play, with his 30 goals in 37 games for Atletico proving it.
Chelsea definitely have a head start on any other bidders as Jorge Mendes is one of the powerful striker’s agents. Mendes has a very strong link with the West London club and deals with a lot of transfer action there. He will definitely play a role in bringing Falcao to London if the £40million clause in his contract is offered.
After visiting the Calderon in July, both staff and spectators were anxious as to whether Falcao wouldn’t play in an Atletico shirt again. They managed to keep him in Spain, but will he be on a plane in January?
