Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that Tottenham are interested in securing the services of Erling Haaland and in the process, Manchester United could be handed a big transfer boost.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Harry Kane previously and if Tottenham were to fork out for Haaland, they’d surely be preparing for life after their influential talisman.

It is claimed by the Daily Star that United would be interested in the England captain, with Spurs wanting a minimum of £150 million.

Dortmund activated a £17.1 million release clause to sign the wonderkid during the January transfer window.

His impact in the Bundesliga has been so devastating that other top European clubs are already looking to sign the 19-year-old.

During the 2019/20 campaign, Haaland has smashed a staggering 40 goals and he’d be a sensational coup for Tottenham.

Nine of his strikes have come in the German Bundesliga with a further 10 coming in the Champions League.

His finishing is lethal and his movement has been electric. If Spurs were to consider selling Kane, someone like the Leeds-born star would be the ideal replacement.

Jose Mourinho’s team face a fight to return to the Champions League and that could see the youngster view Tottenham as a backwards step.

United would dearly like Tottenham to add Haaland to their ranks as it would give them a serious advantage in signing Kane.

Despite that, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to make sure his team is even more competitive next season.

It is years since United truly challenged for the Premier League title and Kane would enhance that possibility.

United did target Haaland previously but the chance to sign the proven Kane is arguably a more attractive proposition.
