Rangers are the latest club to be linked with George Edmundson. According to The Daily Mail, Rangers will compete with Stoke City, Hull City, Fleetwood Town and Sunderland for the Oldham Athletic defender.
The Gers need a new centre-back. With Joe Worrall returning to Nottingham Forest after his loan and Gareth McAuley’s contract expiring, this is a priority for Steven Gerrard.
He could be looking to bring in two new central defenders this summer. And one of those could be 6ft 3in youngster Edmundson.

The 21-year-old has already played 79 first-team games for the Latics and he has been a key part of their squad this season.
But after Oldham’s mid-table finish in the English fourth-tier, Edmundson is keen to test himself at a higher level. Rangers could offer him a chance to try his luck in Scotland.
Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic are Gerrard’s top two choices in central defence. But Edmundson is a bright talent who could compete for a starting spot in the near future.
Here is a selection of tweets from Rangers fans discussing the possibility of bringing Edmundson to Ibrox.
