Aston Villa are being linked with a bargain swoop for Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones.
According to The Daily Mail, Jones is on Aston Villa’s radar, although they face competition from Swansea City.
Jones is out of contract at Kilmarnock at the end of this season, meaning that he could be available for a cut-price fee when the January window opens.
And Aston Villa need to look at John McGinn’s success in claret and blue when considering whether to bring him in.
McGinn moved from Hibernian to Aston Villa in the summer and he has been a revelation, controlling the play in the midfield.
His transition from Scottish Premiership to the Championship was seamless and Jones has the potential to do the same.
The 24-year-old is a talented winger who has impressed for Kilmarnock since his 2016 move from England.
The Redcar-born winger previously played for Middlesbrough, as well as having loan spells with Hartlepool United and Cambridge United, but he has made a name for himself north of the border.
Previously a £350,000 target for Rangers, Aston Villa should now aim for a cut-price move.
The Northern Ireland international could thrive at Villa Park and take his career to the next level if he can replicate McGinn’s success in the West Midlands.
