Could Artur Boruc be a good option for Leeds in January?

Leeds United currently have a dilemma over their goalkeeper position, as a serious injury to loanee Jamal Blackman has seen him depart Elland Road to return to Chelsea.

That leaves Bailey Peacock-Farrell as the only senior option in goal in the squad and his form has been mixed of late in the Championship.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa should consider strengthening in the January transfer window to help momentum building for a promotion bid, so would Bournemouth’s Artur Boruc be a good option to consider?

The 38-year-old is on the fringes at Bournemouth this season and is yet to feature in a Premier League match.

But he’s an experienced shot-stopper that has proven his quality in the top flight before and also picked up 65 senior caps for Poland before retiring from internatonal duty last year.

Boruc is certainly at the back end of his career, but could perhaps plug a vital role at Leeds if they can try negotiate a deal.

The veteran goalkeeper could provide healthy competition for Peacock-Farrell and also be a great mentor for the 22-year-old.

Boruc has helped Bournemouth reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup this campaign and could be a brilliant addition if Bielsa pursues a deal.

He would only be a short-term fix at the age of 38, but the type of shrewd signing that could make the difference in securing a return to the Premier League.
