There have been a number of hints throughout the season which indicate that Arsenal’s move to sign Gabriel Martinelli last summer could prove to be one of the club’s most inspired deals.
The Telegraph reported that Martinelli cost the club just £6 million. And Gunners fans arguably received an early indication that the club had produced a coup when Yahoo Esportes claimed that 25 other sides had been tracking the Brazilian.

And Martinelli has, so far, managed to live up to expectations. The 18-year-old has scored 10 goals in all competitions. And he has produced some moments of sheer brilliance along the way.
The signs are certainly pointing towards Martinelli’s arrival proving a masterstroke.
And perhaps, a report this week has suggested that Arsenal may be attempting to repeat the trick with another teenage forward.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Arsenal have opened talks with Hammarby’s Emil Roback.
Like Martinelli, Roback’s potential is partially outlined by the attention he is reportedly attracting.
The Daily Mail is also reporting that Bayern Munich are also interested in the 16-year-old.
Roback has represented Sweden at under-16 and under-17 level. And he has, so far, scored four goals in seven appearances for his country.
Of course, Roback is a couple of years younger than Martinelli. So Arsenal fans should probably not expect to see the Swede immediately involved in Mikel Arteta’s first-team ranks if he joins.
Having said that however, some may never have expected to say that Martinelli would follow in Thierry Henry’s footsteps by having 10 goals by the end of January during his first season with the Gunners either.
